FREE WEB HOSTING SERVICESThis is a featured page

If you look on the "Tools and Freebies" Page, you'll find that I added a couple of links to free web hosting services (I've included them here too). They both offer free hosting of your web pages, and both use the very powerful CPanel webmaster control panel, which makes it fairly easy to manage your web pages and other aspects of your websites. If you're familiar with HTML and are looking for a free host to put up your own squeeze pages, this is your best option until your business grows to the point where you need a more robust hosting service. Both of these free hosting companies offer paid upgrades, so when that time comes you can just pay the upgrade fees according to what you want and your website's capabilities will increase accordingly.

The first link takes you to my affiliate page at 000webhost.com. They give you 250MB of file storage space, and 100GB of data transfer per month, which is plenty of space and bandwidth for general-purpose business use. If you plan on hosting your own videos (at a higher resolution than YouTube allows), then this is a good option for you. In addition, they have a website builder software as part of the free package which makes it easy for you to build web pages from scratch - pretty much the same as you're probably already doing with your blog.

000webhost does have an affiliate program which pays you $5 commission for every free member you sign up who remains active more than 60 days, so it's not big money, and it's not quick money either. I've heard some reports that they're not good at paying out commissions on free members, so don't count on any income from the affiliate program. Just use the ad-free free hosting. (Join the affiliate program if you want, but don't hold your breath waiting for commissions on referrals at any level.)

Just Free Space is a free host that I discovered a couple of years ago. I've gotten to know the owner a bit since then, and he's a pretty straight-up fellow. Most of his clients are online gamers, but he does have a few business sites hosted there too. You get 2GB of file storage, and 20 GB per month of bandwidth -which is more storage than 000webost, but less bandwidth. It's still plenty for anything you're likely to do for right now.

Just Free Space does place their own adsense ads on your web pages, in the header and footer. They're not too intrusive, but they will be there. Once you get the hang of things, I would recommend that you upgrade to one of their paid hosting plans (ranging from $10 per year to $60 per year, depending on how much file storage and bandwidth you need). If you're going to upgrade at all, I would just go with the $60 per year package (works out to just $5 per month, but you're required to pay by the year). You can also have the ads removed by posting a minimum number of times in the forums at Just Free Space, so that could be an option for you too. There's not a lot going on there and the forum could use a little injection of life into it! Once you've made the required number of posts, just submit a request for ad removal.

Just Free Space also has the very versatile Fantastico automated script installer, including a large number of pre-loaded scripts. You can install a Wordpress blog on your website with just a couple of mouse clicks and typing in some simple information. Lots of other cool things you can easily install too. There is a website builder program there as well, but I haven't played with it so I can't tell you how easy it is to use yet.

Perhaps one of the best parts of a paid hosting plan with Just Free Space is that you will be able to use your website's sendmail function, with an unlimited number of email addresses that contain your own domain name that's hosted there. Having an email address associated with your domain puts forth a very professional image, giving the impression that you're on the ball enough to handle your own email and not depend on Gmail, Yahoo, or MSN. As a result, you don't have to worry about incoming spam filters blocking mail you want to receive - very important when you're in business.

There is no affiliate program with Just Free Space - it's just a really good service I can vouch for from personal experience. (DigitalDonHill.com is hosted there!)

Just as a sort of side thing - Just Free Space also has some other free stuff you might want to check out, including some free MySpace layouts and glitter-type comments, free webmail, free image and large file hosting/sharing. Even a scalable teleconferencing system. All in all, lots of really cool stuff to "play with."

FreeWebs.com is yet another free website system available to use to create and publish your own "space" on the net.

Have some fun with it all!
