My VM Team Wiki

Free Advertising Part 1 - My VM Team Virtual Marketing TeamCreating Creditability and Call to Action:

Indicate to the customer that you are a well-established organization
and not a fly-by-night operator. State the: who, what, where, why and
how” of your company.

Appeal to feeling and emotion. Your ad writing effects is very dependent
on how emotionally involved you can make your customer. Using feeling
and emotions within a classified ad is a great way to spur him or her to
buy. Money, beauty and fitness, health, fame and love can all trigger
emotional responses. Think about the product you sell and the feelings
you can evoke in the customer with that product. For example, let’s say
you sell a social network. Instead of selling the values, sell the experience, “Just imagine see and hearing you
next date, and even being able to visit with them on the Internet LIVE”.

Call to Action

Use call to action statements. Once you have made your sales pitch the final step in the process is to get the
user to take action. Call to action statements (such as act NOW or buy TODAY) are a cornerstone of all ad
writing efforts. Just giving the user information is not good enough. You must create urgency within the user
to buy the product immediately, to get up and go to the shop, to pick up the phone and call, to click the button
and order now!

Classified Ad Size

Headline

The headline should not be longer than three to seven words. These words hold the attention of the customer.
For example; “The Hottest Dating Video Online” or “Date Me If You Can” these are hooks, attention grabbers.
Make sure to use invoke your customer emotion and feeling.

Ad Body

The body of the ad should only contain no more then seven sentences, sentences should be no more than
seven words long, doubled spaces, with an ellipsis at the end of the each sentence. The ellipsis invokes
continues thought. Example:
